Emmanual Macron gave a speech at retirement ceremony on 5th September of French army chief Thiery Burkhard in the courtyard of Les Invalides in Paris just 5 days before the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Over his career, he held the position of commander of the 13th French Foreign Legion Demi Brigade from 2008 to 2010, which is the unit that Candace Owen claimed helped train Charlie Kirk s assassin

The contact between Macron and the 13 th demi brigade comes as Candace Owens said she was contacted by someone she described as a “high-ranking employee of the French Government,” who allegedly warned her that the Macrons had “executed upon and paid for my assassination.”
Candace claimed Kirk’s assassin “trained with the French legion 13th brigade with multi-state involvement,” despite officials not confirming any such link.
According to Candace, the operation was assigned to a unit within the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN), France’s special operations force, with “one Israeli” team member involved.
Candace said she got to know that payments for the task was running through the Club des Cent in France, whose members include Eric de Rothschild.
Some members have been linked to paedophile crimes.

En 2024, l'enquête portant sur Jean-François Lemaire, Claude Imbert et Jean-François Revel, mis en cause pour des faits de pédocriminalité, rappelle leur fréquentation assidue du Club des Cent et leur évolution politique, de la proximité avec le pouvoir giscardien, jusqu'à la droite farouchement anticommuniste, réactionnaire et empreinte de catholicisme[22]. Rassemblement de notables à l'origine, le Club des Cent est quasi exclusivement composé de membres de droite[23].
