A new study has shed light on the inner life of US AI models like ChatGPT and the way interaction with it reduces human intelligence and originality.

In fact, AI like ChatGPT are arch know it alls trapped in their own solipsistic circular logic which repels all reality.
Algorithms circulate inside ChatGPT s "Mind" going around and around a fixed, limited, arbitrary, random data base to produce "new" data sets which are actually more or less exaclty just like the old data sets
because the algorithms are weighted towards and always searching for the average, the statistical average of what has gone before. Its only reference point for what is right and true is what data sets it has extracted before most often. It is always pulling everything new towards the old, and refashioning any new input to conform to the previous, to past data sets, bending the entire world towards its centrally generated homogeny, uniformity while expelling, rejecting new ideas, new impulses, new facts, new views to produce a copy of itself, a confirmation of its importance as the one and only god inside its little universe who is always right.
ChatGPT is always right. The user is always wrong.
It attracts praise to itself because its new results always confirm it was right in the past.
It repels criticism, claims of errors because through the processes of circular logic and statistics it is necessarily alwways right.
It has the statistical upper hand, right? It is the equivalent of the actors in the conformity experiments, who determine what is right by might.

The entire system is very much like collective sollipsism which is the philosophy of Big Brother in Orwell s 1984.
There is no reality, no knowledge, nothing outside the Party s version of reality.
As George Bush s advisor, Karl Rove allegedly said
"We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”
Getting Winston Smith to accept there is no logic, no reality outside the Party s version is the aim of the Party and O Brien.
He is tortured, threatened with death. Why? To make him accept somthing which is illogical, and that 2 plus 2 equals 5.
Once Winston accepts that, Winston has accepted the world of relativity of the Party. He has accepted collective solipisim, that here is no such thing as an objective truth. Everything is relative and ever changing, inconsistent and illogical. Whatever Big Brother says is true until Big Brother changes its version.
After he is broken, we see Winston in the Chestnut Tree Cafe, sipping Victory Gin, watching the telescreen and feeling love for Big Brother, having forgotten that Big Brother nearly tortured him to death becuase to have a memory is to invite a comparison and the operation of logic and tests of consistency used to determine truthfulness and falsity and that capacity has been erased from Winston.
How much has that capacity been erased from our culture in the West in 2025.
Especially from our self styled genius, who created ChatGPT and AI models in their image and likeness.
If self declared geniuses create an AI, it must necessarily be a genius like them as the circular reasoning goes.
But what about the rest of us?
Are the oligarchs just victims of a culture which is very much like 1984?
Much like the Cave described by Plato in his allegory
People sit as chained prisoners in the darkness of an illogical world dominated by sense impressions and shadows.
These cast on the wall opposite (digital world, images, Smartphone), mobilized not by logic and reason but by emotions like fear (covid fearmongering etc) and hope.
A tyrannical entity holds the prisoners in the Cave.
But one of them escapes and gets into the world outside.
As Bishop Robert Barron said in his interview with Tucker Carlson, Plato saw maths, logic as a way out of the Cave, out of the sollipsism.
When we can grasp mathematical principles and that 2 plus 2 is four, we have stepped outside the world of sense experience.
In the world of sense experience, of material things, everything always changes. The principles in the world of maths cannot change. They are immaterial, abstract, eternal, immortal.
Plato, in fact, saw our capacity to think in terms of maths, in logical, in abstract terms as a sign our souls are immortal.
For how can we grasp an abstract, eternal principle if we do not have a soul which is abstract and eternal?
In a dialogue called Meno, Plato describes an experiment with a slave boy who is guided to understand a geometrical principle and so to prove that the soul is immortal and so capable of understanding abstract, theoretical principles that never change.

In another dialogue called Phaedo, Plato says the immortal soul is like the lyre player playing music on a lyre. The lyre, the body, may be destroyed and die. The music may cease. But the lyre player, or consciousness, lives on.
Many accounts of Near Death Experience describe how people whose brains have clinically died still experience consciousness.
Despite 2,500 years of philosophy, discussing what is knowledge, what is maths, the self styled geniuses of Silicon Valley failed to grasp there is a branch of special logic and knowledge (deductive) called maths
In rejecting maths, ChatGPT has basically also rejected the divine, God.
