In a possible sign of panic, and minutes before meeting President Xi, Trump has called on US military leaders to resume testing nuclear weapon immediatelys in order to keep pace with other countries such as Russia and China as his domestic and economic woese mount.

"Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis," he wrote on social media just before meeting with President Xi Jinping in South Korea.

His new order comes just days after Trump denounced Russia for testing a nuclear-powered hypersonic  missile system in response to continued attacks on Russia using long range missiles supplied by the UK, Italy and Germany as well as in response to a claim by Trump to have sent nuclear subs to the coast of Russia on August 2nd.

Medwedew personally threatened Trump if he sent long range missiles to Kiev to be fired at Russia, and Trump may have realize the threat is not idle as trade talks with China failed to produce the results he seems to have sought to obtain by a micture of bravado, bluff and bullying.

While  Russia and China have tested advanced nuclear power hypersonic missile systems that can deliver a nuclear weapon, the US, NATO ruled by Trump and the Epstein circle have not tested such systems and cannot do so because they do not have them.

And they are unlikely to acquire a matching delivery system any time soon so far have they fallen behind in the hi tech military race.

The Russians did not detonate a nuclear weapon.

That difference between testing a weapons system and detonating a nuke may not have been understood by Trump.

The Russians and Chinese have been working quietly for at least ten years to improve their nuclear weapons systems.

However, in response to increasingly dangerous and reckless attacks by NATO, Russia tested a missile which the Kremlin said could penetrate US defence systems, and an underwater drone called Poseidon, capable of hitting the British, European, Israeli, Australian, American etc coasts and triggering radioactive tsunamis in game changers.

For the US it will be disturbing the extent to which China was able to divert US-bound exports to other mainly Asian markets once the US tariffs struck. Those who predicted China would spill into a crisis will have been sobered by a stock market that has risen by 34% in dollar terms, double the rise for the S&P 500 index. China’s trade surplus is likely to be larger than last year’s. Meanwhile US inflation figures, driven by tariffs, crept up to a politically perilous 3%.

Chinese restrictions on buying US soya beans, a $12bn (£9.1bn) market, were also effective. It sent politically critical US midwest farming interests towards penury as Brazil filled the market gap.

Above all, after a US commerce department rule-change in September, which by some accounts added 10,000 Chinese firms to Washington’s list of sanctioned companies, Beijing massively retaliated by expanding the scope of its export controls on rare earths, the elements essential for hi-tech manufacturing including cars, batteries and military equipment.

By one account, the treasury secretary, Scott Bessant, examining the imminence of the precipice, persuaded Trump that the price of confrontation was proving too high, leading the two sides to the mutual withdrawal this week.

The truce is only for a year, but that may be to China’s advantage. It buys Xi time to push China further ahead in the technologies of the future, including green technology and manufacturing, the field it now dominates, and the centrepiece of the new five-year economic plan.

Whatever you may think about my information, the violations in due process are documented and unambiguous.

While Nexperia chips are " not very strategic components" like Nvidia, there are hundreds of them, small microprocessors in the lock systems, climate control, speedometers or whatever,” Volvo Chief Executive Håkan Samuelsson told The Wall Street Journal. 

The vast majority cars, drones, weapons can be made without Nvidia chips but not without Nexperia chips. Or rare earth metals.

Morevoer, Nvidia chips are made from rare earth metals which China controls.

Carmakers in the EU are “days away” from closing production lines, the industry has warned as a crisis over computer chip supplies from China escalates.

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) issued an urgent warning on Wednesday saying its members, which include Volkswagen, Fiat, Peugeot and BMW, were now working on “reserve stocks but supplies are dwindling”.

“Assembly line stoppages might only be days away. We urge all involved to redouble their efforts to find a diplomatic way out of this critical situation,” said its director general, Sigrid de Vries.

Another ACEA member, Mercedes, is now searching globally for alternative sources of the crucial semiconductors, according to its chief executive, Ola Källenius.

The chip shortage is also causing problems in Japan, where Nissan’s chief performance officer, Guillaume Cartier, told reporters at a car show in Tokyo that the company was only “OK to the first week of November” in terms of supply.

Beijing banned exports of Nexperia chips near the start of the month in response to the Dutch government’s decision to take over the Netherlands-headquartered company on 30 September and suspend its Chinese chief executive after the US flagged security concerns.

Last week car companies in the UK, EU and Japan, including brands such as Volvo, Volkswagen, Honda and Nissan, said the ban on exports from Nexperia factories in China could halt production lines.

“The industry is currently working through reserve stocks but supplies are rapidly dwindling. From a survey of our members this week, some are already expecting imminent assembly line stoppages,” de Vries said.

Rare earths, in particular magnets, are used across the car industry for window, door and boot openings, while chips are critical to all electronics in vehicles, ranging from dashboard functions to ignition and transmission systems.

De Vries said while alternative suppliers for chips existed, it could take “months to build up additional capacity”. She said the “industry does not have that long before the worst effects of this shortage are felt”.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS UNSTOPPABLE SUPER TORPEDO WHICH CAN UNLEASH A NUCLEAR TSUMANI ON COASTAL CITIES

Russia has deployed another super nuclear weapon which can bypass US anti ballistic missile defences as its infantry are poised to capture a key city and logistics hub in the Ukraine.

Der Standard reports the Chinese government is seeking information on whether German manufacturers are using rare earth metals and chips to secretly manufacture drones and other weapons in dual use facilities.

In order to obtain rare earth metals and chips from China, German companies must deliver information relevant to commercial and military products.

In some cases, companies have been asked to provide photos of factory production lines and products like drone engines.

Converting what remains of Germany s declininng industrial base to military use would have to be kept secret from China because the manufacturer of drones, missiles and virtually all modern hi tech weapons and vehicles depends on Chnese rare earth metals.

China controls 99% of the world s processing of these metals vital for the manufacturer of semiconductors, magnets.

The revelation that China is seeking to identify German companies engaged in manufacting drones and weapons secretly will fuel fears that Merz and the German government have secretly begun the mass armament of Germany in preparation for WW3 helping NATO to stock up on weapons for more attacks on Russia and China, using Taiwan.

However, drones will not win WW3. Super glide hypersonic missiles are proving to be the strategic weapon as seen in the 12 day war between Israel and Iran when Iran devastated Tel Aviv with hypersonic missiles.

MOSCOW, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Russia has successfully tested its nuclear-powered Burevestnik cruise missile, a nuclear-capable weapon Moscow says can pierce any defence shield, and will move towards deploying the weapon, President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday.

The test, alongside a nuclear drill last week, sends a message that Russia, in Putin's words, will never bow to pressure from the West over the war in Ukraine as U.S. President Donald Trump takes a tougher stance against Russia to push for a ceasefire.

Russia's top general, Valery Gerasimov, chief of the general staff of Russia's armed forces, told Putin that the missile travelled 14,000 km (8,700 miles) and was in the air for about 15 hours when it was tested on October 21.

Russia says the 9M730 Burevestnik (Storm Petrel) - dubbed the SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO - is "invincible" to current and future missile defences, with an almost unlimited range and unpredictable flight path.

US Navy helicopter and a fighter jet both crashed in the same half hour on Sunday during separate routine operations over the South China Sea, with all crew members safely rescued, the Navy’s Pacific Fleet said.

About 30 minutes later, an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter also crashed while conducting routine operations from Nimitz. Both crew members ejected and were safely recovered, the Navy said.

The F/A-18 is at least the fourth of the $60 million fighter jets the Navy has lost this year.

 Germnn soldiers participating in a military exercise in Bavaria for NATO operatons opened fire on regular police resulting in a fire fight with live ammuniction in an incident described by German media as a "mystery."

The police were warned about the military exercises in advance, according to media.

It is not clear why they failed to identify the soldier with a weapon as participants in the military exercise in Erding and went to the scene with a special armed unit, a helicopter and guns ready.

The Germany army has pledged to protect the Constitution and people, not criminals giving the public toxic jabs for their personal profit and censorshing their crimes.

A soldier was shot by police during a large-scale exercise of the Bundeswehr, Germany's armed forces, in the southern Bavarian city of Erding, officials said on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Bundeswehr's Operational Command told German media that a misunderstanding had led to a shot being fired between troops taking part in the exercise and police who had been called by local residents.

The soldier has since been discharged from hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, according to the spokesperson and local police.

As part of an exercise called Marshal Power, the Bundeswehr is currently carrying out an exercise involving some 500 military police as well as hundreds of first responders from police, fire and rescue services.

The drills are being conducted in public spaces in a dozen Bavarian towns and cities to the north of Munich, including in Erding, to rehearse for an attack on a NATO member state. 

Bavarian police said they had been responding to reports of a man carrying a weapon and deployed multiple units to the southeast of Erding, including a helicopter, early on Wednesday evening.

According to German daily Bild, the military police fired practice ammunition at the arriving police officers, believing this was part of the military exercise. 

The police officers then reportedly fired back with live ammunition, hitting one of the soldiers.

Chaos – How Russia is splitting and “erasing” Kyiv and Eastern Ukraine: A black winter with 20-hour daily power outages

Already in many parts of Ukraine — including Kyiv — power outage schedules are being enforced, with strict cuts for residential consumers. Many families are left without electricity and water for 6–8 hours or more each day.

The latest massive Russian air assault, involving 405 drones and 28 missiles — including Iskander and Kinzhal types — has caused extensive destruction to Ukraine’s power grid.

Today’s Ukraine increasingly resembles Romania in the 1980s under Nicolae Ceausescu’s regime, when households “enjoyed” electricity for only a few hours each day.

The same picture of collapse and decay now unfolds across Ukraine, where some regions risk being left without heating or electricity for up to 20 hours a day.

Russia’s strategy is clear: to cripple Ukraine’s energy system, forcing Kyiv — under social and political pressure — to accept the reality on the battlefield and enter negotiations to end the war.

Widespread power outages

After a new wave of large-scale Russian strikes, the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector has deteriorated dramatically.

“The situation is particularly difficult in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, which are on the verge of a total blackout.

There are also problems in Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kyiv,” said energy market expert and head of the Union of Utility Consumers, Oleg Popenko.

In these areas, strict rolling blackout schedules have been implemented: households are often left without power and water for 6–8 hours or more.

“Energy companies are currently recalculating how to restart the system by changing operational configurations,” explained Yuriy Korolchuk from the Institute for Strategic Studies.

“That’s why schedules are released only on a daily basis. Weekly plans may appear by next Tuesday or Wednesday,” he added.

Up to 20 hours without electricity

However, according to Popenko, no major improvements should be expected — especially if Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continue.

“It’s possible that this winter, many cities will be without power for up to 20 hours a day,” he warned.

Massive power cuts are also affecting industry.

Ukrainian media report that businesses have already been informed about major difficulties not only with electricity but also with gas.

“Enterprises at the regional level have been told to prepare for gas quotas.

Chemical production will likely halt completely, while other sectors will face drastic reductions in output,” the reports said.

Why Russia is striking the left bank of the Dnipro

Experts note that Russia has changed strategy, now systematically targeting energy infrastructure on the left bank of the Dnipro River — an area traditionally energy-deficient — in an effort to split Ukraine’s energy system into isolated ‘islands’.

Since October, Russia has resumed mass attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid.

On October 10, a major combined assault using drones and missiles hit several Dnipro hydroelectric power plants, Kyiv’s TES-5 and TES-6 thermal power stations, and DTEK thermal plants in the Dnipro region.

Russia also began striking transmission substations, especially in the Chernihiv–Nizhyn–Shostka border triangle.

The repeating scenario

In the following days, attacks were repeated in the same pattern.

“The Russians continue to destroy energy facilities,” said Popenko.

Ukrainian MP Mykhailo Volynets reported that on October 22, Kyiv’s TES power stations, the Kremenchuk hydroelectric plant, and oil and aviation facilities were targeted, along with Kamensk hydropower plants in Dnipropetrovsk, Kaniv hydro channel in Cherkasy, and major substations in Sumy and Odesa.

Russia’s objective

After the first major strike on October 10, energy experts confirmed a new Russian strategy.

According to Viktor Kurteev, a specialist in energy systems, while in 2022–2023 the strikes were random, now Russia is systematically targeting energy production on the left bank of the Dnipro, which has always been more energy-deficient than the right bank.

Gennadiy Ryabtsev, head of special projects at the Psychea Research Center, explained:

“The goal is to fragment Ukraine’s unified energy grid across the Dnipro into separate ‘islands’.

That’s why Russia focuses its main strikes on Dnipro hydro plants — which, apart from power generation, contain key transmission nodes.

They are also attacking Ukrenergo substations.

At the same time, Russian forces are attempting to isolate cities that rely on one or two local facilities, cutting them off from energy supply — such as Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy.”

The drone strategy

Russia’s plan to split Ukraine’s energy grid into “islands” is not new, but Ukraine’s system is now weaker than before.

Moreover, the tactics of Russian attacks have evolved.

According to Kurteev, drones now fly in swarms, combining reconnaissance and attack units.

“The swarm approaches the target and begins circling.

The reconnaissance drone identifies the air defense position, drawing fire, while the rest head toward the main target,” he explained.

The risk of a massive blackout

Experts warn that the emergence of “energy islands” — with deficit-ridden eastern regions and surplus western ones — poses a direct risk of a nationwide blackout.

By fragmenting the grid, Russia could try to neutralize portable power generation in western Ukraine and disrupt electricity distribution from nuclear plants.

If that happens, nuclear stations may fail to supply power to consumers, leading to frequency surges and potentially catastrophic shutdowns or damage to nuclear units.

Ukraine narrowly avoided such a scenario on November 23, 2022, when more than 10 million consumers lost electricity and water simultaneously.

Although power was restored within 24 hours, some regions waited a week for full recovery.

Failure to protect energy infrastructure

Amid the new strikes, questions are being raised about failures in energy infrastructure protection.

Officials reportedly blamed predecessors for the failure of the so-called “turtle” shelters — concrete fortifications for energy sites introduced under former Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.

However, even where such bunkers existed, Russian strikes shattered them easily.

No real protection

Popenko said the fortification program was largely a corruption scheme.

Ryabtsev added: “There’s no type of concrete that can resist a direct missile strike. At best, these shelters protect against side explosions or shrapnel — not direct drone or missile impacts.”

Furthermore, according to Popenko, Ukraine also failed in its energy decentralization program, which was meant to make power generation more resilient.

“Western partners provided combined energy units, but many cities never connected them because local governments lacked the tens of millions needed,” he explained.

“In Sumy and Zaporizhia, installation of small boilers has only just begun, while in Mykolaiv, progress is very slow,” he added.

Korolchuk noted that even small thermal power stations (50–100 MW) remain unconnected to the grid, rendering them useless. “Units under 20 MW aren’t even included in national capacity calculations,” he said.

20 hours a day without light or power?

Korolchuk stressed that while large energy plants can eventually be restored, the speed of repairs depends on equipment availability and funding, both of which are limited.

“It seems the enemy is trying to make us destroy our own grid by overloading stations until they fail,” he said.

Ukraine could theoretically improve the situation by increasing power imports from the EU.

According to Ukrenergo chief Vitaliy Zaychenko, agreed import volumes stand at 2,100 MW per hour, but Ukraine currently uses less than 25% of that quota.

Rising electricity imports

From October 11–20, electricity imports rose by nearly 70%, from 76,500 MWh to 129,100 MWh.

However, price caps and damaged transmission lines hinder full utilization.

“As Russia keeps hitting transmission nodes, power can’t easily reach deficit regions. Western Ukraine doesn’t need extra electricity, so imports will likely cover no more than 10% of daily consumption,” said Korolchuk.

Against this backdrop, forecasts for winter energy supply are grim.

“If strikes continue, people could be left without light for 15–20 hours a day,” warned Popenko.

Weather as a critical factor

Korolchuk noted that such conditions will mainly affect left-bank regions, while others may face up to 10-hour outages daily.

“Much will depend on the weather,” he said. “A cold winter will bring outages even without mass strikes.”

Alexander Barsuk, head of Yaroslav company, warned that electricity shortages will drive up prices for all goods.

“Prices will rise because businesses’ costs will soar. Electricity for households should cost around 20 hryvnias per kWh, but no one seems willing to implement that,” he added.

Authorities have already announced that electricity tariffs for households will remain unchanged until April 2026.

What about natural gas?

Another critical issue is natural gas.

Unlike previous years, Russia is now actively attacking Ukraine’s gas infrastructure, reducing domestic gas production by nearly 60%.

Importing gas would require around $2 billion, but even that may not be enough due to volume shortages.

Ukraine is negotiating for additional LNG supplies from the U.S., Slovakia, and Greece.

Deputy Energy Minister Nikolay Kolesnik stated that underground gas storage is 99.5% full (13.2 bcm), but imports will continue due to falling production.

After the latest attacks, gas injection into storage was halted on October 22, and reserves even fell slightly.

Experts warn that Ukraine could end up 10–15% short of the gas needed for the winter.

“The heating season could still be managed, but only under extremely strict consumption limits,” said Korolchuk.

A need for 4.5 billion cubic meters

In many cities, the start of the heating season has already been postponed to November or even December.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine will need to import an additional 4.4 bcm of gas by March 2026.

Industry insiders say companies have already been told to expect gas quotas.

“The chemical industry will likely shut down completely. Others will reduce volumes, and some may face total supply cuts in December,” one source said.

“Gas cuts could be disastrous, especially for private households that risk freezing this winter,” warned Korolchuk.

“They also raise the risk of accidents with old gas stoves that don’t automatically shut off in case of sudden interruptions.”

Ryabtsev added that pressure drops in pipelines could cause heating problems and disrupt gas supplies to industry.

“While electricity can be backed up with generators or UPS systems, there’s no such solution for gas,” he emphasized.

The diplomatic ice means that a deal to end a severe shortage of Chinese Nexperia chips and rare earth metals threatening the existence of German hi tech industry is nowhere in sight.

German auto parts supplier Bosch is preparing to staff at its Salzgitter plant if a trade dispute between China and the Netherlands over Dutch chipmaker Nexperia is not resolved soon.

VW, BMW and Mercedes are also reporting growing concerns that their stores of chips are running down.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has postponed a visit to China after Beijing confirmed only one meeting, a Foreign Office spokesperson said.

"The Chinese side was ultimately able to confirm only the appointment with the Chinese foreign minister, and could not confirm any other additional appointments," the spokesperson said.

The visit, originally scheduled for last week, would have marked the first by a German minister from Chancellor Friedrich Merz's conservative-led government, which took office in May.
