A shortage of fuel is set to cripple German and NATO military operations against Russia because Trump s oil sanctions are affecting one of Germany s biggest oil refineries in Schwedt, partly owned by Russia, he Berliner Zeitung reports.
On Wednesday, Trump imposed “tremendous” sanctions on two of Russia’s biggest oil companies: Rosneft and Lukoil.
The sanctions are causing fears of imminent petrol and fuel shortages in the North East of Germany as well as in Poland and the Ukraine forming NATO s East flank because a major refinery supplying the area, the PCK in Schwedt, is co owned by Rosneft.
Before the Ukraine war, about 10% of all the oil used in Germany flowed through the refinery in Schwedt, a town on the boder between Germany and Poland, from Russia.

PCK processes 12 million tons of this valuable raw material every year, placing it among the largest crude oil processing facilities in Germany.
Rosneft owns 37.5%

90 percent of the supply of gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and fuel oil in Berlin & Brandenburg is supplied by PCK.
As a result, Trumps oil sanctions affecting Schwedt could lead to a shortage of petrol and kerosene and other fuel products in and around the area around Schwedt, including in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Berlin s airport could be affected by a lack of kerosene.
Schwedt raffinery also plays a vital role in supplying Poland, the Ukraine with petrol as well as Nato s East flank.
"It is hard to imagine that the military operations against Russia could fail because no fuel can be delivered from Germany, " says the Berliner Zeitung.
From media
