A must read commentary on the Assisted Dying Bill by two of the most experienced MPs in parliament has been published in The Guardian.
When a judge can decide a person can be killed, murdered by the state without consulting the person or their family, we are no longer talking about assisted dyring. We are talking about murder sanctioned by the state.
We are talking about a repeat of Hitlers T4 euthanasia programme.
Making the murder of people legal wihtout any real safeguards or transparency, as High Court Judge James Mumby warned, could lead to thousnads, if not tens or even 100s of thousands of people being euthanized in secrecy with their families not even being informed.
Kim Leadbeater failed to tell MPs this vital fact as she rushed through her bill....
For if the judge making the decision about who is to be euthanized does not neeed to inform the patient or their family before they are euthanized or murdered, then why should the judge afterwards?
There seems to be no mandatory clause obliging a judge to inform the family some has been euthanized in the bill. The way has been opened for vast numbers of people to be euthanized without the families or public knowing as happened under Hitler s T4 euthanasia programme when about 300,0000 Germans were euthanaized with the families told they had died of natural causes in most causes to avoid social unrest.
Hitler also called this murder compassionate. But then a Hitler would call chilling, cruel mass murder compassionate, would he not?
Our politics could not be more different – but we’re united against this dangerous assisted dying bill
