Located in the centre of Larisa, the street where the Tempi prosecutor s son was last captured by a video camera, the realtively short street Archep Dorotheo, 41447 Larisa, has only one or two  places where a person could conceivably be kidnapped without drawing the attention of people walking in  and around, Alcazar park, on the bridge, drivers  and the people living in the appartment blocks around.

The most likely place where he could have been kidnapped appears to be an open garage space around building number 4 where the narrow street twists and slopes down from the busy main bridge where Vasilis Kalogirou was last captured by a video camera.

The garage would have allowed kidnappers to approach him from behind, muzzle him and drag him into a semi closed underground area.

When I walked up and down, I saw three people walking along the particular road as well as several people walking along the parallel path at a lower height along the Pineios tributary in Alcazar partk which has a full view of the upper road.

I saw two cars driving up and down the street in that short time.

Almost the entire road is also visible from  the opposite bank. The trees in winter are bare and thick in only a few places and able to impede visibility.

Much of the road is visible from the two bridges on either end.

It seems to be a one way street at the top close to the main bridge where the video captured Vasilis Kalogirou. 

Therefore, any cars leaving the street shortly afterwards from that side must have been captured on that video.

Cars leaving from the other side must wind their way through dense, old streets or cross a busy bridge with a big supermarket at a corner.

Apart from the garade at number 4, there was another option where a few trees beside a cafe offer some campuflage for kidnappers and their cars.

In short, Larisa police could easily have gone door to door looking for witnesses and examined the videos as soon as they heard of his disappearance.

That was the next day later. As the family appeared to hope they would get a call from the kidnappers, they waited until the following day to report him.

My thinking is if Larisa police had done the minimum they are required to do to investigate a suspicious disappearance of a top prosecutors son, they would have found lots of witnesses, video and clues quite quickly.

Instead, they appear to have determined almost immediately the disappearance was suicide due to pyschiatric problems and focused their resources exclusively on findng his body in the vicinity without pursuing the kidnapping hypothesis.

The way Vasilis health records were released adn reported in the media to support the official narraitve of a mental health crisis causing his disappearance rather than murder has led to criticism.

It appears to be a system to smear murder victims as suicidal and so escape an investigation.

The murder and kidnapping of Vasilis seems to have been  a sophisticated operation.

The risk of being caught are significant. Vasilis could have shouted or struggled and attracted attention.

It was still daylight.

To minimize the risk, a dozen scouts may have been needed to report traffic, pedestirans at key exit and entry points. Video cameras may have been used. A central control room may havebeen established in a truck or flat close by.
