The president of Greece s private sector union has accused the Mitsotakis government of weaponizing the justice system to smear him and freeze his bank account and assets.
The fact the union president s right to a fair trial and due process have been trampled on and he has not even been summoned by a prosecutor but his assets have already been frozen is a massive violaiton of his rights.
It is a basic principle of justice that a person is presumed innocent until after they are proven guilty under due process and only then are penalties like freezing bank accounts imposed.
The fact Mitsotakis and his crony media are ignoring due process is a red flag that justice is being weaponized and used selectively to target political opponents.
In a separate development, ccurical video which can shed light on the cause of the Tempe train collision has been withheld illegally. The videos were seized on a court order but have disappeared reinforcing the suspicion Mitsotakis has something to hide, namely, a wagon with xylene..

The president of Greece’s biggest private-sector union, GSEE, Giannis Panagopoulos has denied allegations linking him to an alleged embezzlement scheme involving education and training funds, saying the case amounts to “character assassination.”
Speaking at an emergency news conference held on Thursday after authorities froze his bank accounts and assets, last week, Panagopoulos said he has not received the official findings from the anti-money laundering authority, and went on to criticizewhat “leaks” of unofficial documents. “What rule-of-law will protect me when I have not even been summoned by the competent prosecutor?” he said.
Panagopoulos insisted that GSEE itself does not implement or assign training programs, explaining that affiliated bodies operate as nonprofit entities under a specific institutional framework and that project committees are staffed by regular employees rather than elected union officials.
Addressing reports about €73 million in disputed funds, he argued that “no such programs exist,” adding that a €10 million initiative carried out between 2020 and 2025 was audited and deemed “flawless.”
Responding to claims of direct contracts with unrelated companies, Panagopoulos said the firms provided printing, event organization and cybersecurity services tied to conferences and campaigns. He also denied knowledge of reported cash withdrawals by third parties, saying that “not even a single cent can leave an institution in cash without oversight.”
Panagopoulos ruled out resigning before the union’s upcoming congress, saying his presence does not hinder the investigation. He said he would seek a full probe at the national and European level, warning that the allegations amount to a “public shaming” that will follow him for life.
