WAR AVERTED? PENTAGON ACKNOWLEDGES IT DOES NOT HAVE THE AIR DEFENCES TO PROTECT ISRAEL, US FORCES FROM IRAN

When missiles rained down on Tel Aviv during the 12 day war in June, one may have hit Israelis Pentagon, the Kirya, in the centre of Tel Aviv.

Six months later, Tel Aviv, Israel and the US forces are far less able to mount an effective air campaign against Iranian hypersonic and drone swarms especially when Chinese satellites are able to deliver precise targets.

The fact Tel Aviv has been named as a number 1 target of Iran, and as the real power behind the Trump throne and driver of regime change in Iran, may have made Netanyahu and his chief of staff, who visited the Pentagon over the weekend, think twice about ordering strikes against Iran.

Diplomacy is now at back at the top of the agenda.

Certainly from the point of view of Netanyahu and Trump it is better when the military weakness  of the USA and Israel does not become too manifest to the world, as happened during the 12 day war when Netanyahu had to flee to Greece almost immediatelty after ordering regime change in Iran.

The sight of Tel Aviv obliterated and sinking aircraft carriers will lead to a dollar, US bond and stock market crash.

Mossad, CIA and MI6 intelligene failures must be behind a  contuinuing disastrous underestimations of Iranian power.

Fresh quotes from US officials in The Wall Street Journal suggest major military action is not imminent, but 'limited' strikes might be. The Pentagon is worried its troops and bases in the region are too exposed, given Tehran has vowed all-out war if it gets hit.

HaKirya, or The Kirya, is an area in central Tel Aviv, consisting of an urban military base north of Kaplan Street. HaKirya contains the Tel Aviv District's government centre and Israel's military HQ. Iran has likely managed a direct hit on Israel’s military HQ in Tel Aviv.

The country's ballistic missiles, drones, and even hypersonic projectiles that rained down on Tel Aviv and elsewhere was significant - and likely caused much more damage than what Israel publicly acknowledged.

Currently the US is building up warships, aircraft, and anti-air defenses in the region, amid widespread reports the White House is weighing a range of military strike options.

This has reportedly even included the potential for raids and special forces operations, according to prior NY Times reporting - but the reality is that Iran is a geographically huge country - with serious anti-air defense systems and radar - and any US forces on the ground could prove disastrous.
