ALISTAIR COOKE SAYS ISRAEL, US MILITARY WILL BE OVERWHELMED BY IRANIAN MISSILES, ARE VIEWING THE CONFLICT THROUGH THE PRISM OF EMOTIONS OF ARROGANE, WISHFUL THINKING

HUBRIS COMES BEFORE A FALL

Alistair Crooke has warned that Iran can overwhelm Israel and the US with missiles and drones but that a mental attitude of  arrogance and wishful thinking is blinding the  Washington and Tel Aviv elite to the risk of their total destructon.

Cooke said the experience of a 12-day war between Israel and Iran when Israel s Iron Dome was pierced and Isrel had been “attacked in an unprecedented way” and sustained “real damage”, showed that d Iranian missiles were effective.

An Iranian counterattack, this time, would likely focus largely on major cities in Israel as well as military targets and critical infrastructure.

As Iran unveils thousands of missiles and advanced drones with super sophisticated abilities

To any clear eyed person, inspecting the field of battle, the advantage of Iran is clear.

The US naval and other assets, the Israel cities and military assets are confined to a relatively small space where they can be subjected to wave after wave of bombardment with drones, ballistic and even hypersonic missiles, erasing them altogether.

Iran s  superior air power, capacity to make high precision, strategic strikes over a massive area to take out enemy assets, not to mention submarines and land forces,  is as clear ticket to victory as in a chess match when the  white pieces still have the King, Queen, two Bishops, Knights and Castles and the black pieces only have a few pawns, a King and a  castle.

The prospect of total defeat may be sobering up even an ideological fanatic and war hawk like US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

At a hearing before the United States Congress, said that Iran possesses thousands of ballistic missiles and drones capable of reaching, and destroying, between 30,000 and 40,000 American troops stationed at nine strategic locations in the region.

He said that even if Iranian government was toppled, there was no plan or ability to influence what government came next.

Rubio said he hoped matters would not reach the military option with Iran, warning that any miscalculated step could have serious repercussions for American forces and the entire region. It could also spell the end of Trump, Netanyahu, the dollar and US economy, hyperinflation and collapse.

Khamenei's 3000 Missiles, 1000 Drones Deployed: Iran Signals War Readiness As Trump Sends Backup?

Iran announces the deployment of 1,000 new multi‑role military drones across all branches of its armed forces, dramatically expanding its strike, reconnaissance, and electronic‑warfare capabilities as tensions with the United States and Israel grow. Tehran warns that any U.S. attack would trigger an “immediate and decisive” response, stressing that American bases and aircraft carriers are within range of its missiles and increasingly integrated drone and submarine forces, even as Washington rushes additional naval armadas into the region amid concerns it currently lacks sufficient firepower for a full‑scale conflict.

At the same time, adviser to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, General Ali Shamkhani, said that the notion of a “limited strike” is an illusion, and that any military action by the United States, from any source and at any level, would be considered the start of a war. He added that the response would be immediate, comprehensive, and unprecedented, targeting the aggressor, the heart of Tel Aviv, and all those who support the aggressor.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking during a hearing before the United States Congress, said that Iran possesses thousands of ballistic missiles and drones capable of reaching between 30,000 and 40,000 American troops stationed at nine strategic locations in the region. He added that the Iranian system has been in place for a long time, and that any scenario involving its collapse requires careful consideration of the US presence in the region. Rubio expressed hope that matters would not reach the military option with Iran, warning that any miscalculated step could have serious repercussions for American forces and the entire region.

In parallel, Russian efforts to neutralise Israel from any Iranian response reached a dead end. Russia had proposed guaranteeing that Israel would not enter the war if a US strike occurred, in exchange for Iran not turning Israel into a theatre for its response. The Iranian reply was decisive. The war, Tehran said, is being fought on Israel’s behalf, and Washington will seek to move its own forces out of the range of Iranian fire at the decisive moment, but it cannot remove Israel. This is why Israel resorted to Russian mediation. Iran, however, will not allow such deception. Western media reports have also spoken of advanced Chinese military technologies reaching Iran, particularly in the fields of electronic warfare and air defence.

Former British diplomat Alistair Crooke has claimed that debate inside the Pentagon is divided over Iran’s military capabilities and the potential impact of a direct conflict on Israel, arguing that some assessments suggest Israel may not be able to withstand such a war.

Speaking in an interview with retired judge Andrew Napolitano on the Judging Freedom podcast, Crooke said he believed certain Pentagon views are based on evidence rather than assumptions, pointing to what he described as the experience of a 12-day war between Israel and Iran.

Crooke criticised what he called arrogance in Washington and Israel, particularly claims that Iran is unable to challenge advanced missile defence systems. He said Israel had been “attacked in an unprecedented way” and sustained “real damage”, while others, he argued, continued to downplay Iran’s capabilities by describing Iranian missiles as outdated and ineffective.

He described this stance as “emotional thinking”, saying it was not grounded in rational assessment. “How can Iran possibly challenge our missile systems?” he said was a common refrain, adding: “This is the new world you’re living in, gentlemen of the Pentagon.”

Crooke also argued that countries including China and Russia have demonstrated the capacity to challenge sophisticated Western military systems, and said Iran “isn’t backward” or in decline.

Drawing a parallel with the 2006 war in Lebanon, Crooke recalled Israeli assumptions about Hezbollah’s capabilities. He said Hezbollah nearly sank Israel’s newest frigate after launching a surface-to-sea missile, prompting an Israeli investigation into why the ship’s defence systems had not been activated.

According to Crooke, the naval commander involved said intelligence assessments had portrayed Hezbollah fighters as “barefoot Bedouins who live in caves and ride donkeys” — an account Crooke cited as an example of the dangers of underestimating an adversary’s military capacity.
