This is an exmaple of why Maria Karysitanou needs to build up her own network of media.
The extremely popular paediatrician is entering politics to try to improve the desperate situation for all Greeks who lack any alternative to the rigged left and right uniparty and at great personal cost to herself and certainly not out of personal ambition.
Why is Ekathimerini giving this single man s view so much prominence and his unfair criticism so much weight and not the other members of the association and the millions of people in Greek society, who support her?
It is because the system feels threatened. And the media are a part of that system. The "media" will do everythhing to smear, villify and slander Maria Karystianou because she is a genuine challenge to the corrupt criminal clique and uniparty that controls Greece. She is not motivated by personal ambition and she is not all performance and theatre like so many others.
She can form a media from volunteers, especially among young peoplem, a little army of citizen journalists to cover Greek affairs from a fact based perspective to counter the propaganda.
The Russians and Chinese could fund this project.
They should expand their soft power in the crimbling West.
If I were a Russian applying for asylum in the US because politicians were caught trying to kill me , it would be all over the US media.
The Russians and Chinese seize the media opportunities, the chance to change the narrative, to expose the Western leaders with facts.
From Elathimerini
The father of one of the 57 victims of the Tempe railway disaster nearly three years ago has called for Maria Karystianou, head of the victims’ families association, to step down following her announcement of plans for a new political party.
Pavlos Aslandis, who lost his 27-year-old son in the February 28, 2023 collision between a passenger and freight train in the Tempe Valley, said the association was created to seek justice for the tragedy, not as a platform for personal or political ambitions.
He criticized Karystianou’s plans for politicization and said she should not be involved in upcoming three-year anniversary events in any official capacity.
