First off, I wish you every good luck and success for 2026!
It is great news that Maria Karystianou and her associates are thinking of founding a genuinely democratic, diverse political movement which is about debate, about solving problems and not about a false left, right wing ideology and party politics.
But I urge you to consider the importance of media.
I believe a media strategy to counter the smears campaign, which is already being rolled out against Maria Karystianou and her new movement, will be crucial to your success.
Day after day, the media are already trying to infect the minds of the Greeks with the virus of hostility to Maria Karystianou and her movement and incite people to active rejection of it.
This is not democracy. This is about suppressing true democracy and representation by preventing people from being informed accurately.
If you create your own media unit, you can inform people directly of whatever information you want to by sending out press releases, speeches, news articles, and holding press conferences and other activities.
You can use social media to get across your point across in an environment where the message has been monopolized by the establishment media and the Billionaires.
The farmers are also much hindered by not having a clear media strategy in my view.
By tapping people who have an interest in media inside your circle, and who may already be working successfully on the social media campaign to get justice for the victims of the Tempe train collision, you can build up a team.
There may be some outstanding talents who can support you by doing much needed investigations, research reports.
The very fact you have such a team may actually help keep you all safer because the calculation of political opponents is that a rising movement which threatens the uniparty s monopoly of power can be eliminated without media coverage of all the dirty tricks, smear campaigns and other tactics.
When these opponents realize their authoritarian censorship will be analyzed and exposed, they will be far more cautious.
You can also build up a data base of contacts to send material directlyto people by email.
Please bear in mind that your media operations, data bases, computers and financial and donation data may be the first thing anyone who may be infiltrated into your organization to sabotage it form within, may seek to obtain control of and eventually hijack. Unfortunately, such dirty tricks happen as I am sure you are aware.
As for the smear campaign, I have been following it mostly in the English language Greek media.
Why did Ekathimerini, for example, release an article attacking Maria Karystianou perfectly timed to coincide with the announcement of the new movements launch?

Published yesterday, it features a father of a victim who attacks Maria Karystianou
To quote
The father of one of the 57 victims of the Tempe railway disaster nearly three years ago has called for Maria Karystianou, head of the victims’ families association, to step down following her announcement of plans for a new political party.
Pavlos Aslandis, who lost his 27-year-old son in the February 28, 2023 collision between a passenger and freight train in the Tempe Valley, said the association was created to seek justice for the tragedy, not as a platform for personal or political ambitions.
He criticized Karystianou’s plans for politicization and said she should not be involved in upcoming three-year anniversary events in any official capacity.
This is a moral blackmail in my opinion with all respect to Pavlos Aslandis. This person assumes the moral high ground. He suggests his motives are pure and selfless because he does not want to go into politics. And he implies that Karystianou s are selfish because she does. This is absurd.
The implication, the underlying assumption he makes is that everyone who goes into politics must necessarily be self interested and everyone who does not must be pure and selfless. This is a false dichotomy and a hasty generalization.
Of course, people can enter into politics for selfless reasons and to change society for the better for everyone.
Clearly, there is no more personal ambition in going into politics to get justice for Tempe and for others than in setting up the association in the first place.
This smear is used to justify calling for Maria Karystianou to be de facto banned from the upcoming Tempe anniversary events in any official capacity.
Whatever his mere subjective views may be, the reader is supposed to accept these views, accept that Karysitanou is selfish, vile, evil for wanting to found a party and that she cannot be tolerated even to participate in the upcoming anniversary events. She must be cancelled, banned, removed, silenced, disappeared.
There is no rebuttal, no counter argument offered in the piece,
Ekathimerini is just one media which has joined in a smear campaign against Maria Karystianou and a new political movement.
It shows that the media are, largely, a vehicle for the New Democratic party and other parties, who form a uniparty, to continue to suppress true representation in Greece
A genuinely honest and democratic new movement threatens their power
Since they cannot compete on the field of facts, they are using smears.
If the Russian and Chinese government were to contribute funds to your media unit or other help, this would help create a genuine alternative to the propaganda which dominates the Western media because media like a TV station are expensive.
Concerning my situation, I can report this. Kyriakos Mitsotakis has refused to respond to my repeated requests to correct the violations in D 15 218 and E 17 449 and the perversion of justice and restore my rights and money, which are the cause of my dire situation which requires me to live on the street still.
This is an attack on my health and it is deliberately done and should have serious consequences for Mitsotakis. He is de facto caught in the act of serious crimes against a reporter, caught, in fact, with a complicit media which refuses to cover this scandal so that their function as propaganda is not exposed, and so can be arrested without a parliamentary vote.
I think the amount of effort these Billionaires invest in trying to silence a little reporter like myself shows that media may be actually their main weapon of control.
There is a huge opportunity here to remove Mitsotakis legally by exposing his covid era censorship and other crimes against the Greek people and leveraging public opinion!
