Jeffrey Sachs says Trump has not managed to change the Venezuela gov by kidnapping Maduro and coups, instabilty and unrest could follow, all of which will result in tragedy but also higher oil prices for the US
This, just as Trump back an attack against Iran which will likely close the Strait of Hormuz

An interesting comment is
"Trump went after Venezuela for oil because Israel wants the war with Iran . To do so Trump needed an oil supply that could protect the prices in the US if Iran blocks the Straights of Hormuz. Netanyaha just had his visit last week with Trump to get it going ."
First off, Venezuela s oil is hevy and hard to refine and more expense to refine that US oil.
From media
Beyond sanctions and politics, Venezuela's oil faces another major hurdle: its quality. The country's vast reserves are dominated by so-called heavy oil, harder to refine and more expensive to process, the BBC reported. This is in contrast to the US, which largely produces light oil, a crude type better suited for making petrol and other high-value fuels.

Venezuela's Hard Oil
Venezuela's vast oil reserves, especially in the Orinoco Belt region, are dominated by heavy and extra-heavy crude oil. Much of this oil has very low API gravity, high sulphur content and significant impurities, making it hard to refine without specialised processing or blending with lighter oil.
Gulf Region's Light Oil
Since 2008, the crude oil processed by US Gulf Coast refineries has steadily become lighter, as refiners shifted away from heavier imported crude towards lighter oil produced in Texas. Home to most of the country's petroleum refineries, the Gulf Coast traditionally handles a wide range of crude types. However, in line with national trends, the overall mix processed in the region has grown noticeably lighter over the past decade.

Higher oil prices will make Trump even more unpopular than he already is as the mid terms approach.
Getting oil from Venezuela also depends on maintaining stability.
If Delcy Rodriguez is not compliant or if she is overthrown as a tool of Trump and Chevron, if civil war erupts, if guerilla warfare flares up and if oil fields, terminals and tankers are targetted by militaries or paramilitaries, the oil supply from Venezuela will be very sporadic and expensive indeed.
This is the more likely scenario.
The less likely scenario is that Trump manages to rule Venezuela through Delcy Rodriguez and keep the oil following to the US where it still has to be refined at a low cost.
And then there is the option of China just deciding it is time to sink the US Caribbean fleet if it tries to intervene with Chinese tankers.
As for Israel, it just takes a few of Iran s more power Mach 5 missiles and Israel with its thin air defence and weak protection from the declining US miliary, will be in big trouble.
