The intention of U.S. President Donald Trump to increase the country’s defense budget by one and a half times by 2027 may indicate preparations for a possible new world war, American journalist Tucker Carlson said on his program, published on the social network X.
“President Donald Trump has announced an increase in the Pentagon budget from 1 trillion dollars to 1.5 trillion dollars… Such a budget is typical of a country that is preparing for a global or regional war. It is obvious that we are moving in that direction, toward a world war,” the journalist said.
As a reminder, President Donald Trump on Wednesday proposed that U.S. military spending in 2027 be set at as much as 1.5 trillion dollars, stating that “times are troubled and dangerous.”
The military budget for 2026 has been set at 901 billion dollars.
