Born in Switzerland to an Irish mother and Austrian father, Jane Bürgermeister has a degree in English from Edinburgh University, Scotland, and has worked as a journalist for the British Medical Journal, Nature, The Scientist, Reuters, The Guardian, European Voice and American Prospect among other publications.
She lives in Vienna, Austria.
