When the City of Vienna fails to ensure that half the students entering the school system have been able to learn German by providing adequate programmes, then it will have a disastrous impact on their education, skills, workforce and so the entire economy. I think it is a good thing that there will be no big pools of young people from Vienna willing or able to be conscripts in a n Austrian army and sent to the Ukraine, for example. They simply will not have the language skills which armies need to communicate, train, deploy, work together.
If everyone in a platoon speaks a different language and none of them speak much German, then that platoon cannot be deployed for more than cooking and sentry duty.
When language difficulties pervade an entire regiment, and division, than it cannot operate.
Most likely migrant children will also not feel much patriotism towards Austria because they were taken their as children with promises for a better life which has largely failed to materialize for many. I am sure most of them will be very frustrated at the low level of help given to them in learning German before they go to school and at their poor job prospects in an ever more impoverished state.
In addition, the industrial base needed to produce weapons has been shattered.
Things are not that different in Germany and Sweden.
Meanwhile, Greece is undergoing a demographic collapse with two deaths for every birth and an. economy now so bad children are fainting from hunger at school

It is baffling why von der Leyen, Mitsotakis, Merz contrinue to feel powerful when their own power base in the West has been de facto demolished by their own folly.
Foreign affairs now has to be the primary focus of this discredited, loathed elite as their enemies in Russia and China come looking for them.

Yet when you hear the Western leaders talking about peace in the Ukraine, you would think they and NATO really is able to fight WW3.
