According to media, Larisa police have changed the focus of the investigation into the death of the 39 year old son of Tempi prosecutor to alleged medical problems even as the signs of murder mount.
Parallel, the head of Larisa Forsensic Unit, Roubini Leontari, has been retained as the main ivnestogator after her resignation on Friday, which was triggered by criticism of her handling of the autopsies of the Tempi train collision victims was rejected, sparking concerns of similar failures in investigating the death of Vasilis Kalogirou.

In addition, the police appear to be dismissing vital clues using false and illogical reasoning and by making improbable assertions.

For example, the dogs of a farm close to the place where the body was found are reported to have started barking only 3 to 4 days before the body was found, suggesting the body was placed there.
But now, Larisa police have offered an improbable explanation for this sign, claiming the dogs were locked in their kennels until then.
However, that would mean the farm dogs must have been locked in their kennels for about five weeks. How probable is that?
Who would lock farm guard dogs inside a kennel for weeks on end when the whole point about having farm dogs is to do farm work?
Is the claim by the police based on facts or is it an ssertion with no basis in facts or reality designed o explain why they only started bakring 3 to 4 days before the body was found?
Why would Larisa police want to cover up clues a gang murdered a man and placed his body there 3 to 4 days before he was found?
Can it be there is political influence after all? But which politician would have the motive for a cover up of a murder?
And why has a single key hunter in the area been selected by police to testify the opposite of what local hunters testified on TV, namely, that they passed the spot with their dogs and saw no body In January and earlt February?
As locals in Larisa know, hunters and their dogs roam quite freely in the surrounding country side in search of animals to shoot.
It is very plausible that the hunters passed the farm and barn on their way to hunt in the surrounding hills many times and did not see a body.
We all heard local hunters testify as much on TV.
So, why have Larisa police cast doubt on that testimony by producing another witness?
Why is only the head of a local hunting association being asked to testifyand not the other hunters?
Most of Greece did not expect the Larisa police to conduct an objective, independent investigation given the level of politicization and corruption also documented in the Tempi train collision probe as well as the Greek prosecutor probes, and so few will be surprised that the local police are ignoring, dismissing or reframing vital clues to puruse what appears to be Mitsotakis and his government s official narrative of suicide.
Some drugs have allegedly been found in his body s system.
But here is no clarity on whether they were sedative drugs used in his abduction reported by a new witness or other drugs.
There is no explanation why a teacher with a full time job should have suddenly taken so mnay drugs.
Not can be explained how, even if he had taken drugs, he would have been able or felt propelled to walk 18 kms in mostly pitch dark and die on a hill side when the significant numbers of other drug takers in Larisa and Greece do no similar thing.
