A judge deeply implicated in the Tempi cover up has decided not to order the freight train company to produce its footage to confirm whether three new videos showing the freight train on the night of its colllision with a passenger train is authentic.
Once more, yet again, a Larisa judge has failed to issue a subpoena for the official footage which will clarify once for all what was on the freight train. The footage is owned by the company. It should be obtained as a vital piece of the investigation. Yet, two years after the Tempi train collision, Larisa judges have still failed to issue the order for the crucial video to be produced.
Given the scale of the corruption and cover up, any footage the freight train company produces should be authenticated by independent experts.
When a stanDard step in an investigation is not carried out, it requires a positive decision. The omission of standard, investigative steps are made by design.. It suggests complicity in hiding evidence of an illegal container of flammable liquid to shield Mitsotakis and his circle from murder charges.

What about the other footage which Interstar Security has of the journey of the freight train? Why does the company s lawyer produce only three short snippets of the train around a tunnel outside of Larisa and not 20 or 30 minutes of footage?

Who are the two experts he selected? Do they have conflicts of interests? Are they going to deny the authenticity of the footage in order to continue with the cover up when virtuall all Greece now knows that there was an extra illegal container with flammable liquid from reports and analysis and above all from the missing official freight train footage, which no judge wants to subpoena.

Investigating judge Sotiris Bakaimis has ordered an inquiry into the authenticity of newly emerged footage, allegedly showing the course of a freight train before it collided with a passenger train near Tempe Valley on February 28, 2023. The collision resulted in the worst rail disaster in Greece’s history, claiming the lives of 57 people.
On February 7, experts Apostolos Vasilakos and Stavros Batzopoulos were urgently tasked with examining and certifying the authenticity of the three videos. They are also to investigate whether the footage reveals a tank or other container on the freight train that could indicate the transport of illegal, undeclared cargo.
Technical experts commissioned by the victims’ families argue that the massive explosion following the collision – which killed many survivors of the crash – was caused by a flammable material, though its exact nature has not yet been determined.
Additionally, experts from Ghent University in Belgium, who analyzed samples from the crash site and wreckage, have reportedly concluded that at least 3.5 tons of flammable substances exacerbated the tragedy.
