He was parachuted out of nowhere by the media into the position of leader of the opposition, Syriza.
American educated, wealthy and a former staffer for Joe Biden s election campaign, Stefanos Kasselakis has all the hall marks of controlled opposition.
Instead of focussing on attacking PM Mitsotakis, Kasselakis focuses on attacking any member of his own party, Syriza, who dares to attack Mitsotakis, debate policies or ask questions about why he is doing so little to hold Mitsotakis to account. All this, in the name of some nebulous, monolithic"Stalin style" unity.
Faced with purges, threats for doing their job, and a leadership who may as well work hand in glove with Mitsotakis, so similar are their policies, Syriza MPs seem to have finally had enough and ousted Kasselakis.
It is time to stop the authoritarian drift of Greece into a totalitarian super state with lawless police and judges targetting political opponents for the private profit of US Billionaires.
If the new Syriza leadership can focus on the proofs of Mitsotakis corruption and on central bank, they will be starting a new era of real politics.
